Workshop: Weather Data & Tools
Tue, Jul 25, 2017
3:40 PM to 5:40 PM
Risk management is key to successfully operating an agricultural business. Weather - especially volatile weather - can turn a well managed plan into a disaster. In this breakout session, we will discuss in-season weather risk and explore tools that can be used to monitor and predict adverse weather around the country and world. We will learn together how to interpret and understand weather forecasts and discuss how weather can dominate the movement of market prices. Finally, we will discuss the progress of the 2017 growing season and look ahead to harvest weather and the 2017-18 growing season in South America.
