James Brehm

An independent advisor and technology evangelist, James Brehm is one of the leading voices on the state of the IoT and M2M market. Leveraging experience gained in a decade long career as an industry analyst after holding multiple marketing and customer facing roles with leading technology companies, Brehm launched James Brehm & Associates in early 2014 to serve the very specific needs of his customers – pragmatic, actionable advice and metrics grounded in reality.

Over the past decade, he has spoken to various groups on topics including wireless services, mobile marketing and advertising, mobile content, VoIP, activation and provisioning, service creation, mobile apps, premium messaging, wireless security, fixed-mobile convergence, mobile broadband (LTE and WiMAX), the telecom regulatory environment and vertical market deployment of web-enabled services.

From 2011 to 2014, Brehm served as practice leader, strategist and senior consultant for Compass Intelligence. Prior to joining Compass Intelligence, Brehm spent nine years in multiple roles at Growth Consulting firm Frost & Sullivan. Prior to joining Frost & Sullivan, Brehm worked in marketing, sales management, and business development at Rackspace Managed Hosting and Interland (now, two of the largest pure play web hosting companies in the U.S. His responsibilities included researching the competitive landscape of the market, developing new product offerings, assessing emerging markets, improving the overall value chain for Global 1000 clients, due diligence, and acquisition analysis. Brehm will use his accumulation of unique knowledge and skills to predict and unlock the potential of the IoT and M2M spaces.

Paul has a strong agronomy and technology background that enjoys finding ways to utilize technology to help improve farming operations. For over 20 years, he's been heavily involved in the field of precision agriculture and currently lead Business Development for Agriculture at Senet, a wireless provider for IoT applications. He was previously with Raven Industries and has a Bachelor of Science degree in Agronomy from South Dakota State University.

Michael Finegan is a leading technical design consultant and public speaker focused on engineering, design, and commercialization of embedded systems for the “Internet of Things”. His 19 years of experience in designing Enterprise Wide Area Networks and Cloud infrastructures has helped hundreds of customers and partners deploy thousands of devices. Michael is the IoT Business Development Director for MultiTech (a hardware platform provider for the IoT industry). Michael specializes in designing wireless and wire line WAN (wide area network) topologies and implementing machine-to-machine and IoT solutions. Michael graduated from Saint Mary’s College in California with a degree in Business Administration and Management.

Kim Pearson is founder and CEO of New Boundary Technologies, a pioneer of Machine-to-Machine (M2M) and Internet of Things (IoT) software services and IT management tools that are distributed worldwide. Established in 1985, the Minneapolis-based company is a 5-time Deloitte & Touche Fast-50 Award winner and earned a “People’s Choice, Internet of Things” Best Enterprise Implementation award.

He earned a BS Environmental Engineering from Syracuse University and an MS Mechanical Engineering from the University of Wisconsin - Madison. He received the University of Wisconsin Distinguished Service Award for outstanding contribution to the field of engineering and was an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year Award finalist. Mr. Pearson holds 2 patents, volunteers in the University of Minnesota College of Science & Engineering Mentoring Program and serves on the advisory board of IoT Fuse.
